PT Rumah Indah Tropis is a boutique home building & design company / property agent based in Ubud, Bali. Our aim is the exceptional on an island arguably the epicenter of the tropical dream home. We provide turn-key service in all aspects of fine design and construction, exclusively or in collaboration with others. Our set standard for built work is of the highest and best quality available in the area. Partnership, loyalty, and close communication with clients, associates, contractors, and suppliers are central to our approach. Skilled in design interpretation, we are committed to ensuring a shared vision becomes the reality. We embrace the following; KISS (keep it sweet & simple), Common Sense Green Design (design & build for a long useful life), and the Slow Home Movement (focus on the sustainable, practical, and functional). Our mission is to contribute to the know legacy of fine regional design and craft.


Services

Land Acquisition, Site Assessment, & Property Sales Our team has considerable experience in the search for land, related site assessment, and the multitude of concerns inherent in Bali's property business. With a mix of network, leg work, and vision, we help discover the 'perfect' location.
Building Design & Construction - our core service. We are inspired and motivated by good design and stubbornly fixated on build quality. We employ a low volume, personal approach to our craft and are versed in the traditional, the modern, and the primitive; Challenge Us.
Material Sourcing & Fabrication We source bespoke timber products, including doors, windows, and furniture; custom lighting fixtures of hand worked glass and metal; and handcrafted iron, steel, and brass hardware.
Property Management When needed, we consult or provide turn key property management services and have a strong track record in regards.

The Team

David Collins - Creative Director
David has more than 25 years of professional design/build experience, with a focus on his own new home developments as well as bespoke work for clients. Past projects include work in the US, South Africa, and Indonesia. He has extensive experience with timber, fine woodworking, and furnishings. An affinity for close tolerance work has honed a razor sharp eye for detail and on-site quality control. He has the gift and drive required to discover exceptional building sites; a key component in thoughtful design.

Erna Setiawati - Managing Director
With more than 20 years experience in business administration & management in the areas of property development and boutique hotel management, and as once AA to the island’s top chef, Erna can make things happen. As Managing Director, she is motivated and motivating as well as thrifty and efficient. She's likable :), well connected, and keen to network.
